Highlights from FSC Friday at the FSC International Center

At the FSC International Center in Bonn, Germany, the program was rich with a series of presentations and a video on the impacts of FSC. There were presentations on the recent regional meetings organized by FSC to facilitate participation of indigenous ad traditional peoples in the review of FSC Principles and Criteria; on FSC’s efforts to build a network of supporters in strategic regions around the world, and on the process and reliability of the FSC’s accreditation program.

The public also had the opportunity to explore the FSC International Center, view a sampling of FSC certified products and learn more about FSC and responsible forest management during the Q&A sessions with FSC staff which followed each presentation and the video. As part of the program, City of Bonn Forester Stephan Mense guided the public in a forest walk in the FSC certified forest of the City of Bonn to showcase an example of a forest managed according to FSC standards.

The day ended with an exclusive dinner party which gave city representatives, certificate holders and FSC supporters the chance to meet FSC staff in an informal setting. African Dawn Wines with FSC certified labels and corks, Neumarkter Lammsbraeu organic beer and beverages packaged in FSC certified SIG Combibloc cartons were served at the party and during the day.

FSC wishes to thank everyone who contributed to the success of these events.
