Specify FSC Forest Products
Responsible corporations, organizations, governments, construction & builders associations are now implementing timber specification policies with FSC materials as a requirement. By specifying FSC certified products, you will reflect your commitment to responsible forest practices and provide an incentive for more forests to achieve FSC certification.
Specifiers and purchasers can check that their specified product is FSC certified in several ways. In all cases the invoice of the supplier should clearly state that FSC certified timber was supplied. The chain of custody certificate number should be included on all product invoices. The product may or may not physically carry the FSC trademark.
To verify the FSC certificate number, review the FSC Certificates List or the certificates database. If you do not find the certificate number please contact FSC International Center.
