Relationship between FSC and MTCC - September 15th, 2006
The visit of the Malaysian Minister for Plantations and representatives of the Malaysian Timber Certification Council (MTCC) to Europe this month has triggered a number of enquiries about possible collaboration and convergence between the MTCC and FSC. While FSC recognizes the efforts that the MTCC has made to adapt its systems more closely to international FSC requirements it would like to clarify that at this stage the MTCC standard and scheme are not considered compatible or in near compliance with FSC, and no claim can be made as such.
