FSC engagement in forest-based carbon - second call for Working Group members
FSC would like to remind FSC members to participate in the FSC Forest Carbon Working Group. The Working Group will explore the roles that FSC governance, policy and certification can play in frameworks and projects to mitigate climate change. The deadline for submitting applications has now been extended to 24 June, 2009.
At the 2008 General Assembly, the membership passed motion 43 that requests FSC to explore its potential for engaging in forest-based carbon initiatives. Motion 43 requires that a sub-chamber balanced Working Group is established to ensure the actual and potential views of all FSC stakeholder groups receive due consideration.
Interested individuals are asked to submit a completed application form and curriculum vitae (CV) to carbon.wg @fsc.org.
