FSC Canada reviews national FSC forest management standard
FSC Canada has begun the process of reviewing and, where necessary, revising the National Boreal Standard. All national FSC forest management standards are revised every five years to ensure their continued relevance. The Canadian standard was first accredited in August 2004.
As a first step in that process, FSC Canada posted a Framework of a Work Plan for the revision process, with an opportunity for people to review and comment on the framework; the latest version of the Boreal Revision Work Plan is available on the FSC Canada website.
FSC Canada is currently in the ‘Information Collection’ phase of the work plan, with a survey to be launched in the coming months and the appointment of a Boreal Revision Committee anticipated for Summer or Fall 2009.
